Short Tales.

From time to time, intersting things happen, yet try as I might, I can't squeeze them into into full out posts. They slowly build into stories that are worth telling, however brief they are. So here are some of those observations and stories from the past week:

On the prowl for something new to read, I remember being told about this: Starcraft English The Korean's have such an obsession to this game there is a 300+ page book dedicated to for people willing to learn English, but only when Starcraft is used as an example. They break down words in the game into roots, and explain the meaning of the phrases used in the game. I wonder if they explain the meaning of the word "Obsession"?

When I returned home last night, I looked to see that I forgot to close my window tightly to my basement room. I happened to look up and see this: A huge spider sitting in the corner on my wall. I tried to capture it in a cup, but if fell off the wall, and disappeared behind my television. I gently moved the TV stand, I was about to take a picture of the underside of it to see where the spider was lurking, when with horror movie timing the spider jumped out. I caught him under the cup, and then slipped a piece of paper under it to move it out of my room. I walked outside with a cup extended far out, much to the amusement of the 20-something's sitting around outside my apartment building chatting with their dates that they were not allowed to bring inside to there houses. I flung the spider out from my cup and walked back to my house, much relieved to be rid of the monster, but I checked all my bedding and clothes for spiders anyway.

Today the air is brown. At first I thought it was some sort of increase in the smog that usually rolls around, but the fact that we had some rain last night that should have cleared the sky confused me. The current conditions are caused by the air carrying dust from China's deserts. Weather in Action! It's educational fun! (ugh!)
