Yay! Let's go out and make toxic sandmen!
I've been told that the Chinese Yellow sand that was making the sky a funky brown is actually toxic because it contains heavy metals. That explains why more people than usual were wearing masks outside yesterday. I wish I would have been told this *before* I made my trip last night to go shopping, because by the time I got back my throat was raspy, and it's still sore now. Always the last one to know.
I guess the sand isn't a just a minor annoyance to people that like their cars clean. The school has cancelled kindergarden classes for the day (no word on the Hogwon yet). Living in Ohio, I rarely used to get days off school because of snow, but this is the first time I ever had a "toxic sand" day. Hmmm, I think I prefer snow.
Figures I would choose today to do my laundry.
